Become a conservator
One of the most important projects of the Acropolis Restoration Service has been the conservation and restoration of the Parthenon west frieze. Conservation of the blocks began in 1999 and was successfully completed in 2005. Initially the work was focussed on structural restoration of the blocks, in the course of which fragments were joined, the surfaces were consolidated and the reinforcements of earlier interventions were removed. The surface was then cleaned of soot deposits and the black incrustation, using the laser system. The cleaning system was designed and developed by the Acropolis Restoration Service in collaboration with the Institute of Electronical Structure and Laser of the Technical and Research Foundation, Crete.

Try to clean one of the blocks of the frieze using the laser system and then you can watch the cleaning of the frieze by the conservation team.
