The good condition of the upper part of the block has preserved riders (24 and 25) clearly. They are clad in chlamys, evidently over short chiton, and felt boots. Just as a space has been left between the first and second groups of horsemen, here too the space between riders (25) and (26) on the next block X shows that rider (26) belongs to the next group, the fifth. Notable is the rendering of the horses’ manes as a compact mass; details of the hair will have been painted.
