The Parthenon Frieze. Block W IX
Image
Two horsemen (16 and 17) are depicted in a variation of the scene on the neighboring block to the right, with the left hand horse pacing and the horse to the right trotting easily. The riders wear short chiton and chlamys. The rider (17), capped with a petasos, bends his head, inspecting the reins which he holds in close.
